NEC Readies 30-inch MultiSync IPS Monitor

NEC is readying a new addition to its MultiSync IPS monitor series, the PA301W. This 30-inch monitor sports a native resolution of 2560 x 1600, and is best suited for graphics professional use, as it features a 10-bit IPS panel, built-in 14-bit LUT, 107% Adobe RGB coverage, 1000:1 static contrast ratio, and 6 ms response time. It features standard CCFL-illumination with 350 cd/m² brightness. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the MultiSync PA301W is expected to cost €2259.

It's great to see more manufacturers introducing new models. All we have seen for 2 years has been 1920 x 1080 tft screens. :toast:

I was so happy to see this.... then i saw the price

I was hoping for another option other than the dell Ultrasharp U3011 as far as 30" IPS monitors go but with a direct currency conversion it works out as £1915 and the U3011 is £1220 so really there would have to be something awesome about it to want to pay an extra £715 than the other widely available 2560x1600 30" IPS monitor.

I would love to have 3 30" 2560x1600 monitors in eyefinity/nvsurround but £3660 to £5745 on screens alone seams kinda crazy to me when what I'm using now (3 22" 1680x1050) cost £330, i know low res and size and not IPS but still for those prices i could get 30 to 50 22" monitors..... hmm i wonder if 4 6970's could power 24 1680c1050 screens

I understand these kind of IPS screens are aimed at professional usage but I'm sure everyone here would jump at the chance to have a kinda cheap 2560x1600 IPS panel in front of them right now... well excluding everyone with a low end GPU

Couple extra specs from the PR:
Two DisplayPorts and two DVI-D interfaces provide the user with advanced connection options and ensure even greater flexibility. It is also possible to connect to multiple PC platforms with a single mouse and keyboard thanks to the integrated, programmable USB hub.
Nice.

Nice.
I assume that means it pretty much has a built in usb KVM, i admit that is a great feature that as far as i know the U3011 does not have, will be interesting to see how far the price will drop in the future... i hope

If it has DisplayPort 1.2 ports it should be possible to daisy chain it... still, for that price, I don't really care...

A 30" 2560x1600 IPS 16:10 ratio monitor. How I'd love to have one of these!

qubit breaks out his credit card, which starts to smoke in fear. Actually spending on it would cause it to burst into flames.

And then you are basically morally compelled to purchase an EyeOne Pro and software.
